The Story...
IEA (Inner Ear Audio) was founded and incorporated in 2002 in Baltimore, Maryland by Jason Brightwell, a simple man with a simple plan: To create a one-stop Internet site for fans of TRUE punk, classic, and underground music.
Disenchanted with the age of “bubblegum pop” and radio-friendly music that was all of the sudden warping the masses’ sense of “emo” and “punk” and even “industrial” music, and growing weary of countless video and CD merchandising sites set up to make a quick buck on Google ads and click tracking, Jason strived to create a website that paid tribute to the underground scene and was all about bringing together fans of the same music and movie genres and spread the culture to young and old alike.
In Do-It-Yourself fashion, Jason spent countless days and nights building this website from scratch and canvassing the industry striking deals with multiple distribution channels to have his vision realized…
Five years later, Inner Ear Audio, through multiple strategic deals with well-known and respected distribution channels, is able to provide the best quality underground, alternative, classic, and punk merchandise that’s hard to find today in general stores and even on many websites. And it’s able to do so without emptying your pockets.
