Through many up-close-and-personal interviews, this DVD documents
how Nirvana connected with a generation and changed the face of Rock
and Roll. They first exploded into the mainstream with the single
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" from their 1991 album Nevermind, bringing
along with it a subgenre of alternative rock called grunge. Nirvana's
frontman, Kurt Cobain, found himself referred to as the spokesman of a
generation, but was uncomfortable with this attention and placed the
focus on the band's music. This unfortunately ended with the death of
Cobain in April of 1994. The band's popularity expanded in the years
that followed, and they sold over fifty million albums worldwide. This
DVD explores these aspects and reveals many other sides of the band as
well.
